Fall 2011

I have started several blogs....and lost them...we'll see how well I do with this one.
Every year, it seems that fall just sneaks up on me. By the time I notice that the leaves are changing, they are mostly on the ground! I still see a few vibrant trees here and there but many of them are already stripped of their cloaks of green and have covered the ground with blankets of gold, red and burnt orange. Its been very rainy and I miss the crisp sound of dry leaves crunching underfoot.
Nate and I drove to Mt Echo and watched the sun come up in our PJ's after taking the big kids to school last week. It was very chilly and we could see our breath. We also saw a buck and a doe...walked right past our car and down the street! It was comforting to sit in the car and feel the warmth of the sun as it took its place in the morning sky. The sky was beautiful...brushed with pinks, violets, and blues....

This week was Halloween. We took the boys out in their costumes..it gets a little crazier every year...I really like the idea of the "trunk treating" that a lot of churches do now...where they all just let the kids come in the DAY light to the church parking lot and get candy out of everybody's trunk...
Mackenzie stayed at the house and passed out candy with a friend...she is really growing up.
We missed the annual wood cutting day but hope to go visit Baby Ella soon.....we are almost germ free! Can't wait to meet her and see our other niece and nephew!

Speaking of nephews...Tia and Alex will be here soon for a visit, can't wait! Nate is talking about that a lot too!
